It is important to identify a plant correctly because each plant varies in their uses and chemical compounds. Mistaking a plant could be very dangerous and put your life at risk.
It is necessary to understand a variety of species located in other regions when dealing with natural medicines and food because there is a vast amount of species ready for use, but only can be helpful if one contains the knowledge on how it is to be used.
Seasons are significant because it allows one to know which plants are available during that particular season, so one is able to have the knowledge of when the plant is to be used for medicinal purposes.
As a scientist, it is important to develop relationships with local people about their plant habitat because it allows the scientist to gain knowledge about the specific habitat from a first hand point of view, giving the scientist a greater understanding of the area.
If i were found without traditional medicines, and only contained my knowledge of the local flora to treat an illness or disease, although I have gained knowledge on the local flora, I would not fully trust myself because I feel as if I do not have enough experience in the particular area, so if I were to make one mistake on identifying the plant and how to use it, my mistake may be fatal.
